Description

Experience this viral Dubai Chocolate Strawberry Cup! Layers of rich, melted dark chocolate and luscious condensed milk cream meet fresh strawberries for a decadent treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (approx. 450g) fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 8 oz (approx. 225g) good quality dark or semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 ½ cups (approx. 360ml) heavy whipping cream, divided
  • ½ cup (approx. 120ml) sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste
  • 1 cup digestive biscuits (or graham crackers), crushed

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Prepare the rich chocolate base by combining the chopped chocolate, 1/2 cup of heavy cream, and unsalted butter in a heatproof bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, or use a double boiler, until completely melted and smooth. Set aside to cool slightly.
  2. Step 2: In a separate large bowl, prepare the creamy topping. Combine the remaining 1 cup of heavy whipping cream with the sweetened condensed milk and alcohol-free vanilla extract. Beat with an electric mixer on medium-high speed until soft peaks form.
  3. Step 3: Prepare the fruit and biscuit layers. Hull and slice all the fresh strawberries. Crush the digestive biscuits into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a Ziploc bag and crushing with a rolling pin.
  4. Step 4: Begin assembling the dessert cups. In individual serving cups or jars, place a generous spoonful of crushed biscuits at the bottom. Follow with a layer of the slightly cooled chocolate mixture, spreading it evenly.
  5. Step 5: Continue layering with the prepared ingredients. Add a layer of sliced strawberries over the chocolate, then top with a dollop of the whipped cream mixture. Repeat the layers: biscuits, chocolate, strawberries, and finally, a top layer of whipped cream.
  6. Step 6: Chill and garnish. Refrigerate the assembled dessert cups for at least 1-2 hours to allow them to set and flavors to meld. Before serving, garnish with extra fresh strawberry slices, chocolate shavings, or a sprinkle of biscuit crumbs.

Notes

  • Keep any leftover dessert cups well-covered in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days, though they're truly at their peak freshness within the first day.
  • As a delightful chilled dessert, these cups should not be reheated, as the delicate cream and chocolate layers are best enjoyed cold and will separate if warmed.
  • Elevate your presentation by garnishing with delicate chocolate shavings or a tiny fresh mint leaf right before serving, perhaps alongside a warm cup of coffee or a chilled glass of sparkling water.
  • For the ultimate smooth chocolate layer that won't melt your cream, ensure the chocolate mixture is only slightly warm to the touch, not hot, before you start assembling your cups.
